Grading

Your child's teachers will use many tools to check your child's progress. Teachers observe how their students are doing in class. They also use quizzes and formal tests throughout the year.

Three times a year, we produce report cards. We mail home the final, third trimester report cards in late June. Report cards show whether your child exceeds, meets or is making progress toward learning standards, or if they need more help.

  • 1st trimester: Report cards available after Dec. 8
  • 2nd trimester: Report cards available after March 23
  • 3rd trimester: Report cards available after June 21

Grades

Grades reflect your child's performance based on what we teach each trimester. You will see grades in one of four levels:

4 — Exceeds expectations for the standard at this time
3 — Meets expectations for the standard at this time
2 — Approaching expectations for the standard at this time
1 — Developing toward the standard at this time

If you have any questions or concerns about your child's learning, talk with their teachers. They can suggest resources to strengthen skills at home, or tell you more about resources available at school.
