We’ve had a wonderful start to October and it’s been great seeing all the energy and excitement around school. I hope you have a fantastic weekend! Here are a few updates to share:

🍁 Annual Fall Fundraiser
Our Fall Fundraiser runs until Friday, October 17th.
THANK YOU for all the donations that have come in so far — we appreciate your support of the Emerald Heights community!
🚀 What Your Support Made Possible Last Year:
✔️ Academic Tools: Accelerated Reader, Edison Robotics, STEM enrichment
✔️ Art & Music: New art materials and instruments
✔️ Classroom Support: Social/emotional tools, supplies, recess & PE equipment, sound systems, safety kits
✔️ Student Experiences: Field trips, 5th grade camp, Trunk or Treat, Spirit Wear, Field Day, STEM Showcase, staff appreciation
This year, we’re incorporating school-wide incentives along with individual rewards. Every student will receive a prize when we hit milestone goals on the way to our ultimate goal of $30,000.

📝 Impact Aid Survey

Each year, CKSD applies for federal Impact Aid funding to help offset the loss of local tax dollars from tax-exempt federal property.
The Impact Aid survey is critical to our district’s funding for students.
Please complete the form as soon as possible by logging into the PowerSchool Parent Portal to access your student’s forms.

🚫 Toys, Labubus, & Backpack Decorations

To keep our school environment safe and focused on learning, we ask that toys, Labubus, keychains, or decorative items hanging on backpacks be left at home.
These items can be distracting in class, may get lost or damaged, and we want to avoid any disruptions to learning. Thank you for helping students keep their belongings simple and school-appropriate.

🤝 PTA October Meeting

Join us for the PTA October Membership Meeting:
📅 Monday, October 6th at 4:15 PM – School Library
The PTA will also host a Costume Donation & Swap during the meeting.
Children are welcome! Toys and coloring books will be available.

🎃 Trunk or Treat – Save the Date!

We’re excited for another fun Trunk or Treat!
🍬 Candy and non-candy donations can be placed in the front office donation box.
