Principal News 11/21/25
Good afternoon Emerald Heights Families,
November has been full of learning and gratitude here at Emerald Heights, and it’s been such a joy to see students noticing the good in each other and in their school community. As we begin to wrap up a month centered on gratitude, I’m reminded daily of how special this community is and how much heart your children bring to our school. Here are this week’s updates as we head into December.
🦃 Thanksgiving Schedule Reminder
Next week we will have a half day on Wednesday, November 26th with 11:45 AM dismissal, and there will be no school on Thursday, November 27 or Friday, November 28 for the Thanksgiving holiday. We hope you enjoy the extended break with your families!
🌟 Spirit Day — Cozy Day!
On Tuesday, November 25, ASB is hosting Cozy Day. Students are invited to wear their comfiest, coziest clothes!
🚗 Parking Lot Reminder
Please remember to slow down in our parking lot and be mindful of our school buses, particularly around the corners where they need plenty of space to navigate safely. Thank you for helping us keep all of our students, families, and staff safe during arrival and dismissal.

🧡 New Friendship Group for Siblings of Students with Disabilities
Does your Emerald Heights student have a sibling with a disability? Our Military & Family Life Counselor (MFLC) is starting a friendship group for 3rd–5th graders to connect with other students whose sibling(s) have special needs.
Students will explore:
- Strengths of having a sibling with special needs
- Destigmatizing the “disability” label
- Increasing social and emotional support skills
To sign up or learn more, please contact Samara Christman at 360-801-3346.
That's all for now. Have a great weekend, take care!
