Good afternoon, Emerald Heights families,

The last two weeks have been festive and joy-filled here at Emerald Heights. Holiday projects, concerts, crafts, and sewing have brought so much excitement to our school.

Choir & Cultural Night

Our choir’s performance with the Cottonwood choir was a beautiful collaboration, thank you choir and Mrs. Colon! And our Venture Cultural Night for 2nd and 3rd graders was a joyful celebration of students’ global heritage—complete with traditions, artifacts, and delicious foods. Thank you to our Venture 2/3 team for hosting such a special evening.

Barnes & Noble Book Fair

Thank you for making our Book Fair such a success! We received 128 donated books, and your purchases earned our school a $1,500 gift card. The coloring contest and teacher read-alouds made the night extra fun.

Spirit Days & Community Giving

Spirit days and classroom celebrations have brought great energy to our building. ASB sold holiday grams, and our food drive collected over 500 pounds of food for our community—an incredible accomplishment.
Our courteousness challenge has also brightened our halls with warm greetings and kind words.

Academic Highlights

Students have been hard at work—reading about holidays around the world, finding text evidence, comparing and contrasting, practicing figurative language, and strengthening their writing.
In math, students are explaining patterns, working with fractions, and engaging in hands-on problem solving. STEM projects and early-learning cooking activities have added joy and creativity to their learning.

A Festive Finish & Winter Break

We wrapped up with a visit from Olaf, our courteousness-focused Hawk Assembly, and a schoolwide sing-along—such a fun way to close out 2025.
School will be closed for the next two weeks. We look forward to welcoming students back on Monday, January 5th.
Wishing all of our families a joyful, restful winter break.
