Good afternoon, Emerald Heights families,As we wrap up the month of January, we want to thank our families for a strong start to the new year and share a few important reminders and upcoming events.

🌟 Character Trait Spotlight
We just wrapped up the month with our Leadership character trait assembly, where we recognized students who demonstrated leadership in meaningful ways. Next month, our focus will shift to Kindness 💛. Our first graders helped kick things off by sharing a thoughtful skit and song that showed us what kindness looks like in action.

🎨 Winter Art Walk 2026
The Emerald Heights Winter Art Walk is next week! We are so excited to welcome families—everything is coming together beautifully and already feels like a real art gallery.

Join us for this fun, family-friendly event on February 5th. Each class will display a special art project based on a different biome. Come view the artwork, fill out a passport for a prize, stop by the library for a family photo, and end the evening with a delicious hot cocoa at our Snowflake Café ☕❄️

This event is FREE for everyone!

🤝 Art Walk – PTA Volunteers Needed
Thursday, February 5th from 5:00–6:30
The PTA is looking for volunteers to help with the Art Walk. Time commitments range from 30 minutes to 1 hour. We are looking for support in the following areas:

• 2 volunteers to staff the entrance and hand out passports
• 4 volunteers to direct parking
• 2 volunteers to hand out prizes
• 2 volunteers for the silent auction
• 2 volunteers for the hot cocoa bar

🎟️ Silent Auction
There will be a Silent Auction during the Art Walk on February 5th. We would like to thank our teachers who donated their time to create experiences for bidding, SEEfilm Cinemas for donated movie tickets, and the Tacoma Rainiers for donating a Rainiers Basket that includes a President’s VIP experience.
Bidding will begin at the start of the Art Walk (February 5th at 4:45 p.m.) and will run until February 6th at 8:00 p.m.
