Principal News 2/14/25

Good afternoon Emerald Heights Families,

Happy Valentine’s Day! This week was filled with celebration, from our art walk to our festive Valentine’s Day activities. We wrapped up the week with an assembly honoring our students who exemplified perseverance in January, while our 4/5 Venture students kicked off February’s character trait with a heartwarming skit on kindness. I can’t wait to spread kindness like confetti in the weeks ahead!

No School Monday

Monday, February 17th there is no school in acknowledgement of the Presidents Day holiday. We will see you back at school on Tuesday, the 18th.

Art Walk

I want to thank everyone who came to our art walk! We had a wonderful turnout of families to admire artwork created by our EM students. Big shout out to all of our volunteers and to our amazing PTA. We couldn't have done it without your support.  All of the art supplies needed to put this event together is made possible by the donations and the auction earnings. We would love to be able to continue to make this event a special part of our year each year. If you are able and willing, please make a donation here https://bit.ly/EMpay  We appreciate your support!

Climate Survey

Your voice matters! Your experiences and perspectives are essential in shaping our school. That’s why we’re asking for your input in our 2024-25 Family Climate Survey—a chance to share what’s working well and where we can improve. It is just 23 questions —it should take less than 10 minutes to complete. Your responses are anonymous, and your feedback will directly inform our efforts to create the best school possible for our students. The survey closes on February 28. You can access the survey by using the link below:

Student Survey 4th and 5th Grade only

Students in 4th and 5th grade will take a climate survey as well. It will be taken here at school sometime between 2/18 - 2/28.  It consists of 22 or 23 questions (depending on grade level) and takes less than 10 minutes to complete. It is anonymous. It provides us with valuable feedback on what we are doing well, and what we need to do to improve our school. Here is a document to get an idea of the questions that are being asked. 2025 Climate Survey Demo Student Grades 4-5 If you want to opt your student out of the survey, please let us know as soon as possible.

Report Cards and Parent Access

Report Cards will be live in Parent Access on February 27th. This is later than originally planned due to the snow days. We will not be sending home paper report cards. If you are not yet in Parent Access, and need support with it, please feel free to reach out to our office for assistance at 360-662-8500.

That's all for this week. I wish you all a wonderful weekend. Take care!
