Good afternoon Emerald Heights Families,
The much-deserved sunshine is on its way this weekend and next week. I hope you have an opportunity to get outside and enjoy it. The flowers are bursting with color and the trees are starting to blossom. Spring is an uplifting time of growth, and we are also seeing the growth in our students. It is so fulfilling to watch. Here are a few updates and reminders:
April is Month of the Military Child
We will be creating a special wall in our school honoring our students of military families. If this applies to you, please send in a picture of your student with your military family member in uniform. We would like these pictures as soon as possible.
Next week, we will be having a spirit week to honor our military families. Please see the flyer attached to this email. Monday will be patriotic day (wear your red, white, and blue). Tuesday is Camo or wear your service branch day. Wednesday is superhero day, no weapons or props. Thursday, wear stars, stripes, or sparkles. Friday is purple up day. We can't wait to see your school spirit and support of our military families.
Spirit Week Next Week - April Month of the Military Child
Military Ice Cream Social
On Friday, April 26th, our military counselor will be hosting an ice cream social for our military families. It will be held after school from 3:25 until 4:15.
Robotics Club for 4th and 5th Grades
The Emerald Heights Robotics Club for 4th & 5th grade starts this Monday, and will take place at 8:15 in Mrs. Fleck's class (room 50). There is still room for more students. Returning Student Check-in & Parent Input Request Forms
Please be on the lookout for the returning student check-in and parent request forms. They will go out next week in a Google Form.
SBA Schedule
Just a reminder that our end of year Smarter Balance testing for grades 3-5 is on the horizon. Please see the schedule and parent letter attached to this email. Also, we know that sometimes it is not possible, but whenever you are able, please schedule appointments for students outside of the school day so that they are not arriving late or leaving early.

ASB - Otter Pops
Our ASB is going to sell Otter Pops on Friday, April 19. They will be sold at lunch recess for 25 cents. Students may only buy one Otter Pop. Please bring quarters only.
