Good afternoon, Emerald Heights Families,
We had a great (and busy!) week at school with several evening events bringing our community together. After all the rain, it was a gift to see the sun come out these last couple of days ☀️ - students were thrilled to be back outside for recess, and it was especially lovely to see the mountains dusted with fresh snow 🏔️❄️. We sure do live in a beautiful place!
Here are your updates for the week:
🍔 McTakeover – Thank You!
Thank you so much to everyone who came out and volunteered for our McTakeover! It was a big success, and we truly appreciate the time and energy families gave to support our PTA 5th grade camp fundraiser. Your participation and behind-the-scenes help make events like this possible and help ensure our 5th graders can attend camp this year—thank you for showing up in so many ways.🎉 Books & Bingo Night
A huge shout-out to our PTA and all the volunteers who helped host Books and Bingo Night last evening. Thank you to everyone who attended and to those who gave their time to make the night run smoothly. With popcorn 🍿, bingo fun, and students earning books 📚, it was such a joyful community evening—thank you to everyone who helped make it happen! No School – Monday, January 19
There will be no school on Monday, January 19, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.🎨 Winter Art Walk 2026
From desert heat to Arctic snow, where can you go see the coolest art you've ever known? The Emerald Heights Winter Art Walk, that’s where. Mark your calendars for February 5th to join in this fun event (February 19 if we have a snow day). Each class will display a special art project based on a different biome. Come view the artwork and fill out a passport for a prize. Drop by the library for a photo op with the family, and end the evening with a delicious hot cocoa at our Snowflake Cafe ☕❄️. This event is FREE for Everyone! There will be two sessions: 5:00–5:45 for last names A–L and 5:45–6:30 for last names M–Z.Admission is free, but if you would like to donate to our art supply funds, please use the following link: https://bit.ly/EMpay.
Help us continue to provide great art experiences for our students! We hope to see you there.
Upcoming Non-Student Day – January 30
As we near the end of first semester, we wanted to give families a heads-up that Thursday, January 30 is a non-student day between semesters. There will be no school for students that day.Thank you, as always, for your partnership and for the many ways you support our school and students. We are so grateful to be part of such a caring community.
Have a wonderful weekend, and take care.
