Good afternoon Emerald Heights Families,We wrapped up our last week before break with great learning across classrooms, students finishing projects, and some fun events including our Hawk Assembly, field trips, and a special egg hunt for our kindergarten students. It has also been wonderful to see the sunshine and the signs of spring all around us! Here are a few reminders and updates.

🌷 Spring Break
Just a reminder there is no school for Spring Break next week. School will resume on April 13th. Have a wonderful week!

🪑 McVicker Bench
Our wonderful PTA had funds set aside for a David McVicker memorial for our school. With their donation, we were able to purchase a beautiful bench and two potted plants that are now located in our plaza. David McVicker was the first and founding principal of Emerald Heights. His memory and traditions are deeply embedded in our school, and we are grateful for this meaningful way to honor his legacy. Thank you to our PTA for making this possible.

📝  Next Year Enrollment
As in the past, Emerald Heights Elementary School is taking steps in helping to prepare for next year's enrollment.  To help in this process, please indicate on this enrollment form whether or not your child(ren) will be returning to Emerald Heights for the 2026-27 school year.  If you live in Central Kitsap and Emerald Heights Elementary is not your "home" school or you live outside of our district, please submit a "Transfer Request" found online at www.ckschools.org.  If you have questions, please feel free to contact the school office at 360-662-8500.  Also, 5th graders were given letters to take home confirming their middle school placement.  If you have any questions, please contact the office.

🐠 2nd Grade Performance
On Wednesday, April 15th (the week we return from Spring Break), our 2nd graders will be performing for families at 6:00 PM. Students are asked to be here at 5:30 PM. Students will report to their classrooms, and family members will go to the gym to find their seats.

The musical is called Go Fish, and I can't wait for them to share the hard work they have put into this performance with you!

💜 Month of the Military Child
In my last update I had the wrong date for our spirit week for Month of the Military Child. It will be the week of the 20th. Please see the flyer below for the spirit days and what we will be wearing each day. Again the dates of the spirit week will be 4/20-4/24th. 

🎲 PTA Family Game Night – April 22
Join us for Game Night on April 22 from 5:30–6:30 PM. Bring your favorite game to play with family and friends and enjoy some pizza and a drink. We hope to see many of our Hawk families there for a fun evening together!
