Principal Update 10/2/26

Good afternoon, Emerald Heights Families,We had another wonderful week here at Emerald Heights! Throughout September, students have been sharing the many ways we show kindness both at school and at home. Thank you for helping us reinforce kindness and belonging throughout our school community.

This week we also had our first Hawk Assembly! We celebrated our Kindness Award recipients and introduced our CharacterStrong focus for the month of October: Respect.

Please take a look at our Respect Family Newsletter from CharacterStrong at the bottom of this message, our new social-emotional learning curriculum. It includes ideas for talking about and practicing respect at home.

🍂 Fall Clubs Are Starting Soon!

We are excited to have our fall clubs beginning soon!
We will send out individual registration information for each club as sign-ups open. Robotics registration is included below.
You can also view our Emerald Heights Fall Activities Calendar here so you can see what is coming up.
As your child considers clubs and activities, please be sure to check the calendar so they do not sign up for multiple activities that meet at the same time.

🤖 Emerald Heights Robotics Club – Grades 4 & 5

Are you in 4th or 5th grade? Join us for an amazing adventure in our Intermediate Robotics Club!
Students will dive into the world of coding with Scratch and use their creativity to design, build, and program using Edison robots.
When: Tuesdays at 8:15 AM, before school
Dates: October 13–November 24, December 8, with December 15 available as a make-up day if needed
Where: Mrs. Fleck's Classroom, Room 53

Fundraising Planning Meeting
Monday, October 5, from 6:00–7:30 PM in the Staff Room. Anyone interested in helping with PTA fundraising is welcome!

🍬 Trunk or Treat Candy Drive – October 13–16

It’s time for a little friendly pod competition!
Families can send in candy for our Trunk or Treat event from October 13–16. The pod that collects the most candy, adjusted for the number of classes in the pod, will win a popcorn party!
To keep the competition fair for pods of different sizes, PTA will calculate the winner by dividing the total pounds of candy collected by the number of classes in each pod.
Thank you for helping us stock up for Trunk or Treat!

🎃 Trunk or Treat – October 28

Our PTA Trunk or Treat will be held on Wednesday, October 28!
